Privacy notice
Last updated Oct 16, 2026
Julius is a blog and practice site run by me, its author ("I", "me"). There are no accounts here, no advertising and no tracking cookies. This notice explains the few places where information about you is handled, and what you can ask me to do about it. Questions or requests: dfirjulius@proton.me.
Consulting enquiries
When you contact me through the consulting page, by its form or by email, I receive your name, email address and what you write, plus (through the form) your company if you give it, the service you chose and whether you marked it as an active incident.
- Why: to reply to you and, if we agree to work together, to scope the engagement. The legal basis is your consent (the tick box) and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- Where it goes: messages sent with the form are saved in a database I control (hosted by Supabase), and a copy is emailed to me through Resend, an email delivery service. Both act on my behalf and may process data outside the EU under their own data-protection terms. If the form hands your message to your own email app instead, or you write to me directly, it goes to my inbox. Your details are never shared with anyone else or added to a mailing list.
- How long: only as long as needed to answer you. If we work together, records are kept for the engagement and for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
Puzzles, cases and quizzes
When you check an answer, what you typed is sent to this site's server, compared with the accepted answers and then discarded. It is not stored. Your progress (which questions you solved, and your streak) is saved only in your own browser's local storage. It never leaves your device; clearing your browser data removes it.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the service.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to dfirjulius@proton.me. If you are not happy with how I handle your data, you can complain to your local data-protection authority.
